Object types
Data subject category
Section titled “Data subject category”Data subjects represent the group of people whose personal data is processed.
Fields
- Name — unique name of the data subject category.
- Description — generic description of the data subject category.
- Location — country where the estimated data subjects are located.
- Estimated subjects — estimate how many data subjects are related to the category.
- Icon — icon representing the object.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the data subject category object.
Organization
Section titled “Organization”Organizations are business entities that are a part of data processing activities. Typically a vendor, subsidiary, or an authority.
Fields
- Name
- Business identification
- VAT identification
- Street address
- Postal code
- Location
- Internal — is this organization part of your organization.
- Description — generic description for the organization.
- Attach files — browse, drag and drop, or attach existing file(s) to the object.
Server
Section titled “Server”Server is a background object and it cannot be added on the data flow map in designs. Servers can only be created from the Asset Management object view. Link all databases and system objects to a server for them to inherit the correct location of the data.

- Official name — official / commercial name of the system.
- Location — country where the server is located.
- Type — define either a cloud or an on-premise server.
- Provider — organization that is the system provider.
- Maintenance provider — organization that provides maintenance for the system (can be the same or a different organization than the provider).
- Server — server that is storing the processed personal data.
- Deployment date — when the system was deployed.
- Disposal date — planned disposal date.
- Icon — icon representing the system.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the system.
System
Section titled “System”System object represents an IT system, software application, module, website, etc.
Fields
- Name — unique name of the system.
- Description — generic description of the system.
- Official name — official / commercial name of the system.
- Internal responsible person
- Provider — organization that is the system provider.
- Maintenance provider — organization that provides maintenance for the system (can be the same or a different organization than the provider).
- Server — server that is storing the processed personal data.
- Deployment date — when the system was deployed.
- Disposal date — planned disposal date.
- Icon — icon representing the system.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the system.
Storage
Section titled “Storage”Storage represents a digital or physical information storage in which personal data is stored. Examples include a database, backup, data warehouse, archive, paper, filing cabinet, hard drive, USB stick, or any kind of device.

- Name — unique name of the storage.
- Description — generic description of the storage.
- Official name — official / commercial name of the storage.
- Internal responsible person
- Provider — organization that is the storage provider.
- Maintenance provider — organization that provides maintenance for the storage (can be the same or a different organization than the provider).
- Server — server that is storing the processed personal data.
- Deployment date — when the storage was deployed.
- Disposal date — planned disposal date.
- Icon — icon representing the storage.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the storage.
Customer service
Section titled “Customer service”Customer service object represents a group of employees that are in direct contact with the data subject and do data processing activities, such as receiving, typing, and filling information into a system or a paper form. Examples include customer service personnel in offices, retail stores, receptions, and call centers, or healthcare (nurses, physicians, therapists) or educational employees (teachers) doing clerical work.
Fields
- Name — unique name of the customer service.
- Description — generic description of the customer service.
- Organization — organization that the customer service persons belong to.
- Location — country where the customer service is provided from.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the customer service.
Personnel role
Section titled “Personnel role”Personnel role is a group of people who have access to data. They may conduct data processing activities such as transferring data from one system to another, or transferring data between physical or other storages to systems and storages.
Fields
- Name — unique name of the personnel role.
- Description — generic description of the personnel role.
- Personnel role organization — organization that the personnel role belongs to.
- Location
- Icon — icon representing the personnel role.
- Files — any relevant files or URLs related to the personnel role.
